How much does radon remediation cost?
If your house is found to have higher than normal levels of radon, how much does it cost to fix?

- That can be pretty tough. If you've got high levels of radon, then it's likely your house is on a slab or a basement. A house on a crawlspace usually has enough ventilation underneath that it just blows out with no harm done. There are some things that can be done, like sealing the slab from the top (membranes or coatings, whatever it takes), followed by directional boring that allows installation of a perforated pipe to pick up the radon gas and vent it away from the house. If on a basement, it becomes more difficult, as the directional boring often can't get close enough under the basement slab to pick up the radon. In that case, if there's enough ceiling height in the basement, a false floor is built that has ventilation channels built into it, and that space is vented out of the house envelope. There are other variables, and not knowing any more than I do, I wouldn't begin to hazard a guess as to what it would cost to remediate your radon problem. I will say that generally the directional boring solution is the least expensive, and not nearly as disruptive as some other solutions.
- in Pennsylvania,it runs from 700/1500 dollars and is a big Realtor rip off, radon is every place,a quick fix if your concerned is to install a good size fan in one of the basement windows and set it on a timer to run for 20/30 minuets every few hours.i set my up to go on when i leave for work and it shuts off after two hrs. then it comes back on when i get home, and last check i did the levels were OK.total cost under 150 bucks..good luck
